X-rays are the act of using radiation to take an inner picture of a person's body. Primarily, X-rays are used to diagnose health problems and others for monitoring existing health conditions. There are various types of x-rays, each with specific uses.

X-rays work by moving high-frequency radiation throughout the body. The rays are then captured on the image, with different body parts becoming visible due to the color difference in the image. This color difference is based on the density of a person's body part, that is, the X-ray shows the bone as a white image and shows the lungs as a darker picture.

When X-rays are performed, the action will depend on which part of the body to scan. You may be asked to stand upright on a flat surface or lie on a table. Once you are ready, the photographic disk will be placed on a particular part of the body that needs to be scanned. In a fraction of a second, you will be asked to remain silent and the photographic disc will take an x-ray image, send it to the computer, and then print. Doing this X-ray is very safe and painless.
